History of HTM

The
Beginning

The School of Hospitality and Tourism was created in 1969. I was the first Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Guelph, let alone the first school of its kind. This program has been developing leaders in the hospitality, foodservice and tourism for the last 55 years. Many of the graduates from HTM has changed the face of the global industry. 

Timeline

1969: 

1973: The first class graduated and the alumni association was formed 

1975: 

1992: The co-op major was created which provides students with a 12 month opportunity to work hands on in the industry 

1991: 

2002: The program was previously called Hotel and Food Administration (HAFA) and was changed to HTM this year
